English teacher is charged with ‘sexual misconduct’ with student in Hyderabad

English teacher and one of her students have been arrested in Hyderabadi province after a complaint against her allegedly touching a student inappropriately.

Khalida, 25, a teacher at English and Mathematics school in Khadar, allegedly took part in a sexual encounter with a 16-year-old student.

According to police, the student was also allegedly abused by the teacher, who had allegedly started having a sexual relationship with him.

The teacher is a resident of Khadari in Telangana state, which is about 1,000km (620 miles) from Hyderabad.

She was arrested in connection with the case.

“We have registered a case against the teacher under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 377 of the Prevention of Corruption Act,” Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anjali Shukla told reporters.

The incident came to light after a passer-by who overheard the conversation overheard the teacher asking the student if he had had any sex with the teacher.

The teenager, who was not identified, told police that the teacher had also asked him to touch her body.

The boy said that he refused to do so, as he was scared for his safety.

He added that the girl asked him if he was married and he told her that he was not married.

The girl said that she later told the police that she was also abused by Khalida.

The DSP said that the district administration has also registered a complaint with the police.
